Joe Fortes is one of my mom's favourite restaurants. She is always raving about it after she went there for happy hour with a friend. So after watching a screening of Ice Age: Continental Drift we decided to have brunch at Joe Fortes.



It was quite empty inside the restaurant since everyone who wasn't an Asian vampire (like my mom) wanted to sit out in the sun up on their rooftop patio. 


We were brought some lemon scones to start. These are so good we asked for seconds!



I was at Joe Fortes, how can I NOT get some oysters?! Our waiter John R. was really nice and recommended some good ones I might like. I opted for three Gem oysters from BC near Denman Island, Fanny Bay area. Very fresh and so delicious.


I ordered Joe's Signature Benedict. Instead of English muffins, the benny was served on toast. I thought there would be more mushrooms in it for some reason. It was good but I found myself wondering if I should have ordered the Atlantic Lobster Benedict instead, which is what my mom ordered.


Omg looks so delicious!


K ordered the Joe's Classic Seafood Hash. This looks good, too.

A little on the pricy end but with great seafood and awesome attentive service, I know why my mom loves it so much. Definitely coming back again. For more oysters as well!
