Interior Design Show West 2013

The 9th annual Interior Design Show West took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre this past weekend. I thought this year's show was a lot more interesting than ones in the past, with lots of unique exhibits.

My favourite exhibit at the show was the Monogram Dinner by Design, where designers used their design savvy to create a dinner setting that entranced and awed guests.

This Scandinavian Rustic dining room by Sophie Burke Design was my favourite.

So creative!

Some interesting things at the marketplace area:

SUPER CUTE mushroom containers from Sandpiper Studio.

I love the name of this company.

This was interesting concept: living furniture. Wonder if they can do the same with aquariums. Of course it'll take a lot more work to maintain than air plants and succulents.

Red and black seems to be a trend at the moment. This grand piano at the Tom Lee music booth looks stunning!

In an unprecedented event, a laneway house was auctioned off Saturday evening at the show. The house went for $230,000! Woah! And it's all donated to the Alzheimer Society!

The house was built by Alair Homes and is pretty small, only 516 square feet, but it is laid out nicely and with the "art of living small" in mind.

This large wooden countertop actually slides out to reveal the sink and an induction stove top. The builders made everything to be hidden away until you actually need to use it. Pretty ingenius.
